Our White Organic Sourdough Bâtard is leavened entirely with our 13-year-old wild Manitoba grape starter. The loaves rise on floured wicker baskets and bake in our stone-hearth deck ovens. It is our most popular bread, oblong shaped with a robust crust. The crispy outside has a smoky flavor and the crumb is irregular and airy, with almost fruity sourdough flavour.
Suggested Uses: Our White Organic Sourdough Bâtard is the perfect size to take home for sandwiches and toast. It can be turned into croutons or used as table bread and is even a good choice for fondue or other dips.
